When Life Leaves You Feeling Well Worn
"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28
There are seasons in life when "busy" feels like an understatement.
Some days are spent pulling weeds from the garden. Others are spent standing for hours at work, caring for children or aging parents, serving at church, helping neighbors, or simply carrying the weight of responsibilities that no one else sees. By the end of the day, we can feel...well worn.
At Ezekiel's Garden, we believe that caring for yourself isn't selfish—it's stewardship.
God created our bodies to do incredible work, and He also modeled the importance of rest. Throughout Scripture, we see that even Jesus stepped away from the crowds to pray and be refreshed (Luke 5:16). Rest wasn't a reward after the work was finished; it was part of faithfully living the life God had called Him to.
Why We Created Well-Worn Salve
Well-Worn Salve was designed for those everyday moments when you simply want to slow down and care for your body.
Whether you've been:
Gardening
Exercising
Working on your feet
Typing all day
Chasing after children
Building, cleaning, serving, or creating
taking a few minutes for a gentle massage can become a meaningful pause in your day.
Made with grapeseed oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, lavender, and frankincense, Well-Worn Salve glides smoothly across the skin while leaving it feeling soft, moisturized, and nourished. More than a salve, it's an invitation to breathe deeply, be present, and thank God for the body He has entrusted to you.
How to Use Well-Worn Salve
Massage a small amount anywhere your skin could use a little extra attention as part of your daily self-care routine.
Many people enjoy using it:
After gardening
Following exercise or outdoor activities
Before bed as part of an evening wind-down routine
After long workdays spent standing or using their hands
On dry hands, elbows, knees, and feet
During a relaxing massage
As you massage it into your skin, take a few slow breaths, quiet your mind, and remember that caring for yourself equips you to continue caring for others.
Why We Chose These Ingredients
Grapeseed Oil
Lightweight and fast absorbing, grapeseed oil is rich in linoleic acid and naturally occurring antioxidants. It moisturizes without leaving a heavy or greasy feeling, making it an excellent base for massage salves.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has long been loved for its ability to soften and condition dry skin. It helps support the skin's natural moisture barrier while creating a smooth, luxurious texture.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is well known in skincare for its antioxidant properties. It also helps protect the quality of the oils in the salve while supporting healthy-looking skin.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender has been used for centuries in traditional wellness practices and remains one of the most extensively researched essential oils. Studies have explored lavender's role in promoting relaxation and have also investigated its use in settings involving menstrual discomfort, post-operative discomfort, headaches, and muscle soreness. Researchers believe its naturally occurring compounds, including linalool and linalyl acetate, may contribute to these effects, although results vary and additional research continues.
Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense has been treasured since biblical times for both its rich aroma and its place in traditional wellness practices. Modern researchers have investigated compounds found in frankincense for their potential role in supporting the body's normal inflammatory response and their possible applications in comfort and mobility. While research is ongoing, frankincense continues to be one of the most respected botanical ingredients in both skincare and aromatherapy.
The studies mentioned above examine individual botanical ingredients under a variety of research conditions. They are shared for educational purposes and are not intended to suggest that Well-Worn Salve diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease or medical condition.
A Biblical Reminder
Sometimes we wear our exhaustion like a badge of honor. We tell ourselves we'll rest later.
We'll take care of ourselves when everyone else is taken care of. We'll slow down when life gets easier. Yet Scripture paints a different picture.
Jesus regularly withdrew from the crowds to spend time with His Father (Luke 5:16).
God established Sabbath long before we ever believed we were too busy to keep it (Exodus 20:8–10). And Jesus lovingly invites the weary: "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) Rest isn't laziness. It's obedience.
Taking a few moments to care for your body, quiet your heart, and breathe deeply can become a beautiful reminder that your worth isn't found in how much you accomplish.
It's found in whose you are.
A Simple Evening Ritual
Before bed, warm a small amount of Well-Worn Salve between your hands.
Massage it into your hands, arms, feet, or wherever you'd like as part of your evening routine. Thank God for the work your hands accomplished that day.
Pray for strength for tomorrow. Release today's worries. Receive His peace.
Sometimes the smallest habits become the ones that restore us the most.
At Ezekiel's Garden, our hope is that Well-Worn Salve becomes more than a product on your shelf. We hope it becomes a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and remember that the God who called you to serve also calls you to rest.
